Adjustment of Status
It is crucial to adjust your status before your current status expires. If you do not file for an adjustment of status before it expires, you can be deported. Working with an attorney can ensure your paperwork is filed correctly. At The Immigration Law Firm of New Orleans we work with clients to help them with immigration matters.

We understand how frustrating it can be to work with an attorney who does not return your calls or answer your questions, and that is not how we run our law firm. We answer questions from our clients and promptly return calls if we are unable to answer the phone at the time of your call. If you have tried to reach an attorney about your immigration concerns and have not received a return phone call, please contact us right away. There is no need to wait days or weeks for a return phone call or a scheduled consultation.
When an Adjustment of Status is Necessary
- If you are suffering from violence, the Violence Against Women Act may provide shelter to you and allow you to leave the abuser and self-petition for a green card.
- If you are seeking asylum or are living here as a refugee, you can seek an adjustment of status.
Remember: You must file your adjustment of status prior to the expiration of your current visa.
If you are interested in working with a lawyer who will value you and your time, please contact our office or call 504-931-5355 to schedule an appointment.
